3D Printing with the BLOOD OF SMURFS !!!

That’s right, made with real Smurfs !!! No, not really… but if you ever wondered what it would be like to give a hand job to Papa Smurf then get this stuff on your hand by accident… or on purpose if you’re so inclined.

Anywho, all kidding and joking aside, in my quest for an affordable 3D Printing Resin I found this by Rich-OPTO for $26.99 USD:

And so of course I got the blue because yeah, it’s probably the one color I haven’t actually printed in yet. Thus far I have to say, they claim that is’ low odor and I’ll be damned, I don’t smell anything but my FDM printer.

So here’s what Rich-OPTO says about their resin:

4. Wash with plenty of water immediately if you get direct skin contact with resin
5. Do not pour the resin in the resin vat into the unused resin, do not leave the resin in the resin vat for a long time without use to avoid resin pollution affect the printing effect (long time without the resin can be introduced into airtight containers or sealed with plastic wrap shading save)

So I took this resin for a test drive in my new Anycubic Photon that I received today and it worked out great once I got through my setup of the printer. I like how well it cleans up and aside from it being REALLY REALLY slimy and blue, it’s a great resin in my opinion. Supports came away clean and it didn’t seem brittle at all, we’ll see how it does once the part cures.

Think I ran it with 50s bottom layers, 8s layer exposure and as I said, seems to have worked just fine. On their questions and reviews on the Amazon page you can see some people saying they ran it with 3s exposure times. Not sure I’m ready to go that low.
