Took a few minutes to go ahead and restore a simple but incredibly useful little tool, the Defiance by Stanley 1299 Utility Knife. It’s not anything complicated or hard to do and makes for a great little break from the day of being sick as a dog and feeling like crap.
All in all I think there might be a total of 1 hour from start to finish and much of that was just waiting for the paint to dry on the casings… and of course, petting my newest shop apprentice/supervisor.
As mentioned in the video, to the very best of my knowledge these were available in red, black, and plain metal. There was a pic floating around of a black one with painted on silver trim but I have yet to find any documentation suggesting that was a factory paint scheme.
