Gork and Mork want a Kopta

I have been tasked with creating something that probably should never be put on to a gaming table, but nonetheless, I am thrilled at the chance to do this. Using only the Ka-27 model as a base, I will be creating something akin to the Forge World Chinork.

I’ve already started getting the rough parts laid out and even added some extra details, some of which may change but much more will be added to give it that one of a kind Ork look and feel. There are so many ideas running through my melon right now…. I want to add everything orky into this model so it truly stands out.

So starting off with the Ka-27 the first thing I did was separate the rotors from the model, then split it near the cockpit to get a nice clean line I could drag back to connect to the rear of the kopta. It’s interesting how it still looks Russian lol !!!

Here’s some of the build pics for this. The bulk of the work is mine, using good old fashioned kitbashing with custom made pieces and modifications to some of the existing/remaining model.

There is still a metric shit ton of stuff to do on this but it is definitely coming along nicely and the soon to be owner is very pleased with the progress so make sure to check back as this thing gets finished, printed, painted, and dropped on a table for some action !!!!

Update 3/8: I think it’s about finished and ready a few more orky bits on it then I will begin the process of breaking it down to print. What I would REALLY REALLY like to have happen is to remove just the rotors and print the fuselage in one solid piece. I don’t think I will be able to do that because of some additions I made. I’ll know more once I get back on this and remove the rotors.
