After seeing the new 2022 objective I thought to myself hmmmmm…. I can do that. But I didn’t want to do it exactly like the real thing, I wanted to add some touches to make it mine.
I started building up the McComrade sign which was pretty simple to do, then I added my own infantry which still need to be painted. The BMD-1 is another creation of mine and I just happened to have one printed up and sitting on the shelf doing nothing… toss in a K-9 and it makes for a nice little diorama.
I am going to see if I can pull off making a happy meal box or two and some drinks to rest on the BMD for a bit more fun. Might also add some debris on the base along with parking lot lines.
All in all I’m pretty pleased with this design. I think I could have done better with the print job on the sign as there’s some vertical lines but from a distance they shouldn’t be too noticeable.
I’ll make sure to add some more pics once it’s finished up, looks like the lower part turned out blurry in the pic so when I take the final ones I’ll use the camera stand. Getting older means my hands aren’t as steady as they used to be.
