More planes and vintage tools !!!

In a random bout of madness or clarity I set about on another scavenger hunt to find some more planes for my Defiance collection… I ended up getting way more than I bargained for and there’s still more to come.

I was fortunate enough to get not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 Stanley No. 45 bodies, one of which has a broken depth adjuster ring. Out of these I am opting to take the rougher of the lot that has the fully functional depth adjuster ring and will be getting some blades and accessories for it as well.

I also have a fair collection of auger bits to go with the braces I have which will include another that I will restore. The augers all seem to be older Irwin USA and are cleaning up nicely.

Let’s just take a look at things on the workbench now…

In this latest tool grab I was also able to get some more wood handled screw drivers, a couple more egg-beater drills, ummmmmm, there’s just a lot of stuff to work on and see.

OH OH OH !!! I almost forgot !!!!! You see that rusty horseshoe right ??? I’ve got that and a couple of brand new ones ( found the new ones after I had already bought the old rusty one ). The purpose of those is not what you might think with us owning a little herd, nope, I have a vision of making a router plane out of a horseshoe.
