So following the BAL-E and I believe part of the same complex is the “Grave Stone” radar truck that uses the same MZKT-7930 8×8 chassis. I am really liking working on models that use the same chassis and it makes it a breeze to make the variants. Of course I do spice things up while I work on them by working on other models in between or even while I work on them just to keep from getting complacent.
Anyhow, I’m just about finished with this one, all that’s left really is to finish up the mounting post for the radar house in the middle. Couple of things I did different on this one is that I made the radar house completely separate and it by itself is either stowed or deployed, and the outrigger supports are either stowed or deployed and are interchangeable. This means you don’t have to print a separate stowed chassis or deployed chassis anymore and I hope to be able to continue that trend on future models. I know resin isn’t cheap, trust me I know… I just happened to glance the other day as I was ordering my resin and it said I had ordered the same resin 354 times… at a minimum of $23 a bottle… ouch.
