Stanley Handyman Planes

Following the Defiance line in 1954 was the Stanley Handyman series which was a select line of cheap tools designed for use around the house, small shop, or trunk of the car. They typically all featured the same color scheme and appealed to people who needed a plane but didn’t want to shell out the money for something they may only use once or twice. The slogan “Worth What it Costs” seemed appropriate for the quality of these tools. The numbering system for these planes seems to follow the Defiance line with the addition of an “H” before the numbers.

  • NOTE: I’ll add the other various Handyman planes in this line as I get more information on them or get my hands on them.
