By request I’ve managed to create the Dragon Priest Mask using my 3D Printer and some jiggery pokery to get it to print out well enough to finish.
Here’s the process from start to finish minus the printing and gluing together.
Pretty straightforward build. I printed out all the parts using a translucent ABS filament then glued the parts together using SuperGlue. I had to break it into 6 different pieces because the complex curves and overhangs on the inside was creating problems and the support material wasn’t helping.
Once it was printed and assembled I used some Bondo Glazing Putty to fill in the gaps, followed by some light sanding to knock all the seams and edges down before coating the whole thing with XTC 3D. After that I did a bit more light sanding to get rid of a couple of imperfections and gave it a nice coat of primer.
I used a paint from Krylon I believe called “Oil Rubbed Bronze” as a base coat. I followed that up with some silver drybrushing and finished it off with white drybrushing to make the edges pop.
This could easily be a 1 day build unless you have to go to an actual job like I do and aren’t working on 10 different things at once 😛
