There seems to be a bit of diversity just looking at the numbers so I will try to break that down into what makes each model number different. I think it’s here also that some of the numbers also coincide with other tools. This was not uncommon for Stanley to do, referencing the Defiance 205/1245 small block plane, as well as the 1245 14″ hand plane.
- Defiance No. 1287 – Line and Surface Level
- Defiance No. 1289 – 24″ Wooden Red 3 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1291 – 24″ Wooden Red 2 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1293 – 9″ Torpedo Level
- Defiance No. 1294-18 – 18″ Wooden Red 2 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1294-24 – 24″ Wooden Red 2 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1295-18 – 18″ Wooden Red 2 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1295-24 – 24″ Wooden Red 2 Vial Level
- Defiance No. 1295-28 – 28″ Wooden Red Level at least 2 vials
- Defiance No. 1297 – Aluminum 3 Vial Level ( possibly 24″ )
- Defiance No. 1298-18 – 18″ Wooden Red 3 Vial Level
- Defiance No. ???? – 8″ Wooden 1 Vial Level ( not torpedo shaped, flat ends pre “by Stanley” )
- Defiance No. ???? – 12″ Wooden 2 Vial Level ( Has Defiance brand but no model number )
