So there you have it… in a nutshell, alternatively some say that Steampunk is what happens when Goths find brown. However you choose to define or use the word, it a wonderful genre chocked full of artistic freedom with very few strings ( except for the Steampunk police who honestly crack me up ). For me personally, I love the leather and wood, the brass and rivets, the steam and of course… those flying machines. For some, it’s a chance to create wonderful costumes that are loaded with all sort of incredible mechinations that move and blow steam whereas for some, it’s an opportunity to show just how slutty they can be in any outfit. Sorry, a leather belt across your boobs and pair of goggles doesn’t do anything but say “Hey, I need some validation here !!!”. Pffft. Ok, before I go way off the deep end and start on an epic rant, let’s get into the wonderful work of Steampunk and my contributions to the genre. What follows are some of the many projects I’ve done in the past, of which my favourites are ultimately going to be the Plague Doctor Masks and the Fascinators.
